DRAVERS
Born in Metz in 1961, he obtains a first prize in oboe and chamber music in 1981 at the “Conservatoire de Besançon”. His meetings with the solists Pierre Pierlot, Lajos Lencès and Daniel Arrignon, will determine him to carry on his musical formation. His repertoire covers a large part of concerted works for oboe, as well as chamber music which he is especially fond of. He has often programmed this music in concerts. As both a musician and a teacher, he has taken part in summer academies, like “Blue Lake Festival” (Michigan) and Sarajevo in 1998 where he played the oboe in the Orchestra during the season. He divides his musical life between playing the oboe and the English horn in orchestras (such as Ensemble “Entre Sable et Ciel” in Brest), playing chamber music (especially in Ensemble Trielen for which he makes many arrangements), and teaching the oboe and chamber music at the “Conservatoire de Brest”. He recently studies the baroque oboe which is a manner for him to travel again in the repertoire of ancient music. Born in Touraine in 1974, Philippe David studies music at the “Conservatoire National de Région de Versailles”. Rewarded by first prizes in bassoon, chamber music and history of the music, he improves at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon” where he obtains the “Diplôme National d’Etudes Supérieures de Musique” in 2001.
Besides, he enters the “Cefedem de Poitiers” to learn musical pedagogy and, since 2003, teaches the bassoon and chamber music at the «Conservatoire de Brest». He plays the bassoon in many ensembles like “Philidor” and participates to many recordings. Today, he plays the bassoon with «Le Quintette à Vents de Bretagne», «Entre Sable et Ciel» and «Collegium Orphéus», as well as with different orchestral ensembles. Attracted by all kinds of experiences where the bassoon plays an unusual and innovative part, he makes efforts to promote the qualities of his instruments and to make it specially known by the
young public, in very different contexts, as, at the present time in Klezmer music.
Born in 1978 in Vichy, Christophe Dravers obtains two first prizes of improvement in clarinet and chamber music at the “Conservatoire National de Région de Lyon” and creates the wind quintet “Quinte et Sens” in which he plays from 1998 until 2002. Besides, he studies at the University “Lumière Lyon 2” and concludes his University program with a DEA in musicology about the musical aesthetics of the beginning of the twentieth century. Then, he passes the entrance examination at the “CEFEDEM” of Lyon to get his teaching degree and obtains the exam “Diplôme d’Etat de Professeur de clarinette” (clarinet teacher) in 2002. First, he teaches at the “Conservatoire National de Région” of Grenoble and then, he joins the “Conservatoire de Brest” in 2003. He takes an active involvement in the musical programmation for the Instrumental Ensemble “Entre Sable et Ciel” and he plays the ancient clarinet in the Ensemble “Collegium Orphéus”.
